Welcome to the first episode of our new series: ILLNESS IS NOT A BURDEN - Autism in the Workplace.
There are approx 1 MILLION people with Autism in the United Kingdom, with an expected 700,000 too another million awaiting diagnosis, from that pool of just under 2 Million people, it may be a shock but less than half a million of them are in employment, and those of them that are, may be in roles well below their capabilities.
But why?
This session gives a snapshot of a wider problem, with the intention to help people and companies understand the benefits of hiring an autistic individual and help those with autism unleash their self-worth and talents using real-data and practical tools.
As this is launch week, we will be adding our next episode on Friday, and then moving to Tuesday weekly for Illness is not a burden.
Our next episode is Navigating the workplace as an Autistic.
- Please note, not all autistic people are the same, even with the same traits, our experiences differ, these sessions are taken from my personal experience as a late diagnosed person with autism and research.
- If you enjoy the show, please like or share, I'd really appreciate it.
